Maybe it’s time to look at the Schoology gradebook through a different lens. You may have a rigorous learning environment with committed and talented teachers, as we do, but do you have a complete picture of the grading practices across your school?

Providing training and professional development on how to use the Schoology gradebook is essential but you can’t stop there. It wasn’t until our first year with Schoology was well underway that we discovered all of the elements that make the gradebook truly valuable. The Schoology gradebook provided an opportunity for us to better understand our current grading practices across grade levels and departments and also view and appreciate the student perspective. With this data we were able to take a deep dive into grading and reporting as a school. In this session I will share what we learned about grading and reporting and the questions to ask and consider as a school. I will also give you a glimpse into our overall implementation process, including the survey data that pushed us to dig deeper.

Objectives:
- Learn best practices for implementing Schoology's gradebook
- Learn new ways to use the Schoology gradebook to inform grading and reporting at your school
- Generate new questions and ideas to facilitate discussion of the grading and reporting process at your school
